The morning dawned bright and clear–it is going to be another gorgeous day. I have been running at 6:00 every morning, and it has been fabulous. Lots of others are on the river path, too–running, walking, biking, and walking dogs. I was told that a great Buddhist teacher used the flowing Kamo River as an illustration of the impermanence of all life. Not me! While I was running this morning, I was thinking, “Wow, this is amazing–I wish I could stay here forever!” (Get it?! 🙂 )

I teach theology at United Lutheran Seminary, and I am the Associate Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life/College Chaplain at Gettysburg College. I am an inveterate optimist, runner, vegetarian, and harp player. I love Mary Oliver and Gerard Manley Hopkins, and like them, I'm continually delighted by all the surprising and wonderful ways God shows up in the world. View all posts by happylutheran
